Learn Guitar with Jerry ‘Stringbender’ Wyatt

Posted on October 28th, 2009 by admin in guitar lessons | No Comments »

Through the years the staff at Free Beginners guitar lessons has encountered hundreds if not thousands of on-line training courses. Everything from Band Promotion to Learning to Play the Guitar. Most of them are just hype full of promises that are never delivered upon while charging huge amounts of money leaving people scratching their heads wondering how they got scammed

Our goal was to find and deliver quality content and point aspiring musicians in the right direction

We get inundated with questions each and every month about Guitar Programs. Apparently everyone has a need to learn how to play some sort of instrument. So we decided to address these questions one instrument at a time.

If you’ve been following us lately you may have seen our poll asking our readers “What is the most important question you would like answered to help you become a better musician?” The feedback was Overwhelming. At least half of you responded with questions about Learning Guitar

You may have also seen that a while back we joined up with a ‘good ole’ southern boy’ by the name of Jerry Wyatt. Jerry has been giving guitar lessons for over thirty years. A number that is impressive in and of itself. But the really impressive number is the amount of guitar players who’ve connected with him and have improved faster than they ever dreamed. This guy is an open book, he puts everything on the table for his students to see and they love him for it… Simply put, he’s a straight up guy who just has a need to give back to something that has given him so much pleasure in his lifetime…Pay it Forward if you will.

As it turns out Jerry ‘Stringbender‘ Wyatt has much more to give than a desire to give back. Jerry offers revolutionary techniques for teaching guitar that have never been shown outside of his private instruction and fifty dollar a seat clinics. Students relate to Jerry on a level that I have never seen before… Ever! It’s like you grew up together and your learning from your best friend. Not only that but he skips over all the B.S. and brings you straight to the heart of playing the guitar fast and easy. He compares it to driving a Porsche… If someone hands you the keys, what’s the first thing your going to do? Are you going to look under the hood and kick the tires? I don’t think so! You’re going to climb into that car and drive like wild! Learning guitar is the same thing. You can come back to music theory and all the boring stuff later… after you take that guitar for a test drive.

Jerry has decided to release his course to the public. After over a year of giving away some of the best lessons available on the net today, he has developed a awesome course that everyone is talking about. Jerry calls it his ‘Full Blown Course’. I told you he was a southern gentleman but what he’s offering here is worth at least four times what he’s charging. That’s taking Southern Hospitality to a whole new level. These prices go back to the 80’s and honestly Jerry should be charging so much more.

Unfortunately Jerry has to limit the amount of people he can let in to the program! You see, the video lessons consume a rather large amount of server space. I’m sure that some of you know what I’m talking about but for those of you who don’t, it simply means that not everyone will get in! If you are interested you can go take a test drive for less than $5. If you don’t like anything at all he will give back every penny as well as give you an extra month for free, no questions asked. I think he’s nuts but I guess that’s how things are done in The Smokey Mountains… Maybe the altitude!

Jerry, you made something that can be absolutely boring into something totally cool! The great thing is I can use it right away. I love the way you show how to expand things on our own. Your a gifted teacher, keep up the good work and God Bless.

You’ve made a really good point about changing things up, but more importantly you’ve SHOWED me an example of how easy it is to do.

Michael

Hi Jerry I’m really glad that I joined up. The lessons have been a real help to me. The information that you gave has given has opened a new door. Thanks so much.

Kenneth

What I enjoy about your videos is that you break everything down taking time to explain what you are doing and how to do it.

Jason

I took lessons for over a year and was board silly. I actually put down my guitar for a couple of years and have recently committed myself to really learning to play. In just the first lesson I understand the notes on my guitar more fully today than ever before. I look forward to seeing whats next! Thank You!

Dake

Being a beginner, you have made it enjoyable to learn and very easy to understand. My 10 y.o. daughter is learning to play as well. We enjoy learning and playing the guitar together. Thanks for the great lessons!

Is it hard to learn how to play acoustic guitar?

Posted on January 21st, 2010 by admin in how to play guitar | 6 Comments »

I really want to learn how to play the acoustic guitar but first I want to know is it real hard?

Of all of the instruments out there, it is one of the easiest to learn. Not to mention it is by far the coolest!

Here are some tips since you’re just starting out that will help you sort through all of the information out there:

When you’re learning anything for the first time, it’s overwhelming to try to pick the most reliable source of information. You can buy a cheap book or even try to go through reading a lot of free lessons that are offered online. Keep in mind though that just like many things, you get what you pay for. A walmart book or free articles are only going to take you so far, and you probably won’t learn what you actually want to learn.

The best inexpensive yet reliable option is video lessons on the web. You actually get taught how to play. I personally have spent years and years developing a system and creating an online instructional website that is quality (not just trying to make a buck–like most sites out there). In fact, I offer a new video lesson every single week, answer questions, have a forum. It’s set up just for people like you. I actually take the time to help you as you learn. I’ve tried to make a very simple way to learn. I think you’ll like it! http://guitarmann.com

Anyway, here’s a blog post I made recently about choosing on online guitar instruction website. Good luck learning! http://guitarmann.com/articles/the-best-…

Can you actually learn how to play guitar from a video and instructional book?

Posted on January 21st, 2010 by admin in guitar lessons video | 7 Comments »

Or is it better to pay for guitar lessons? Or both? I just bought a guitar and really want to learn.

If you start out by teaching yourself with videos and books, you’ll learn some useful stuff like where some notes are and how to play a few chords. What will also almost definitely happen is that your technique will be garbage while you learn, and that can take a long time to fix as old habits die hard. Get some lessons from a good teacher before you do anything, then you can go on to learn from other materials afterward.

What game can teach me to play rock guitar for real?

I have learnt to play a plastic guitar really well with guitar hero – what a waste! Is there a program or game that can teach me to play guitar for real?

ROCK BAND OR GUTAIR HERO :D DDDDDDDDDDD

What is a good website that has free online acoustic guitar lessons without any membership or downloads?

Posted on January 18th, 2010 by admin in guitar lessons online | 3 Comments »

I have an acoustic guitar, and I’ve always wanted to learn how to play it, but I can’t afford lessons :( !! So I was wondering if there was a website that had a good instructor, that could teach me how to play the acoustic guitar without signing up, or having to give out my e-mail address (no membership…).

Thank you in advance
~George:)

i’ve seen some free online lessons but they’re mostly very weak and incomplete. my best suggestion would be to get a decent book (it costs less than an hour of lesson) or try to teach yourself if you have some musical background. but it would be probably good to ask someone you know to teach you the very important basic (posture, etc)

Need help figuring out these guitar tabs… please!!!?

Posted on January 18th, 2010 by admin in guitar solo lessons | 2 Comments »

so i’m a singer and currently auditioning for colleges and since that is my main priority right now i really don’t have time to take guitar lessons although i am planning on starting them this spring after my auditions are complete… however since i have a guitar already i’m trying to at least learn one song on my own to fool around with and i picked, underneath your clothes, by shakira cause i think it is such a lovely song and i love shakira lol… but i don’t understand how to play the chorus, Interlude and solo lol
Here is the link: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/s/shakira/underneath_your_clothes_tab.htm

Chorus

—————————————–
—————————————–
—————————————–
—–6——-10—–11—-11—–11 2x’s
—–6——-10—–11——–11–
-4–4—8—8—9–9—9———–

————————————
————————————
————————————
——-6——-8—13————
—–3———8—13————
—4—-4—–6—11————-

Interlude

——————————————————
——————————————————
——————————————————
—16———–14———–13————11—
—16-strum–14-strum–13-strum–11—
—14———–12————11————9—-

Solo

———————————————————————-
———————————————————————-
———————————————————————-
–10—————————–10——————————–
–10-strum—–10–6–8—-10-strum—–10–6–10–8-
–8——————————–8——————————–

—————————————————————————-
—————————————————————————-
—————————————————————————-
–10——————————–10———————————–
–10-strum—–13–8–10~—10-strum—–13–8–10–8–6
–8———————————–8———————————–

Any help would be so greatly appreciated, thanks so much!!!!
ughh yahoo filled the ends in with ellipses but i left the link above if you want to view it that way… thanks again

haha nice situation. well if you see there are six lines with numbers. each one of those is one measure.each line represents a string. the bottom most line in the measure is the thickest string on the guitar. each number on the line represent the fret number it is on. so in the chorus it goes:
————————————–…
————————————–…
————————————–…
—–6——-10—–11—-11—–11 2x’s
—–6——-10—–11——–11–
-4–4—8—8—9–9—9———–
that means you strum 4 on the thickest string, then you strum a chord that is a 4 on the thickest string, then a 6 on the second thickest string, and 6 on the next thickest string and so on and so forth. and to the right of all that it says 2x’s. that means to do it 2 times.
in the interlude and solo its the same thing. there is only one place i cant help you. i have never seen it say strum on a tab before, and i have been playing for about 2 and a half years. so no help there.

hope this helped

good guitar lessons ?

Posted on January 18th, 2010 by admin in guitar lessons video | 3 Comments »

plz tell me what is the best guitar lessons on video/dvd out there for beginner /intermediate levels and wich concern guitar playing techniques and NOT music theory (scales, chords ,….) and thx

The best DVD lessons available are Jamorama and Learn and Master Guitar hands down. However, they have there limitations. I would also check out a review site like http://www.lessons-for-guitar-online.com which also have updated online guitar lessons where the possibilities are unlimited.

I hope this helps?
