Is it worth it to take acoustic guitar lessons?
i have been playing the acoustic guitar for a while. i usually find the tabs and play them. like i can play easy songs like secondhand serenade some all time low and stuff of that sort. but is it worth it to get lessons? do i really need to know chords and stuff? i am already a drummer so rhythm and beat is no problem for me. i know a lot of guitarists are self taught but am i missing anything by forgoing lessons? thanks
I took some lessons when I was a kid and I got a lot out of them.
I was a self-taught player and had learned about all that I was going to learn on my own. The few lessons I took really opened my eyes to some new things.
guitar lessons for beginners?
hey, i’m teaching myself the guitar, im BROKE so i cant get a tutor
.. and i dont know anyone who plays guitar… so what should i do now? :/ lol.. thanks
look up "guitar lessons" on youtube, go to http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ and http://www.guitare-tab.com/
ultimate guitar has lessons in particular styles the basics etc.
The string in tab (uppercase) is the low E, and lowercase one is the high E.
Youll need to learn to read tab.
a number corresponds to the fret:
D————-
A–2———-
E————-
this means you play the second fret on the A string: a B.
3h4 mean to hammer on fromt he third fret to the fourth: i assume you know what this means.
3/4 means slide from the third fret to the fourth: play the note, then, while still maintaining pressure, slide your finger down to the next indicated fret
you will pick it up very quickly.
G————0——————
D———0———————
A——2——–3h4/6———–
E—3—————————
for instance the above is a G chord arpeggio, and then a hammer on, moving straight into a slide: playing a C hammering on to a C# without picking it, and then sliding down to a D# still without playing it
heres some beginner songs

Does anyone know a good website to learn how to play the guitar or how to write songs on a guitar?
I love to write music and I want to write songs using my guitar. I just don’t know how to begin. Can anyone help?
if you like to write music you should get guitar pro 5
on guitar pro 5 you can type the music in then press play to see what you wrote but it cost a bit of money like 40$
this is a good program because u can go on ultimate guitar type in a song and download the song it plays it and tell where to put you fingers
ps i didn’t pay for my guitar pro program got it off a mate so i got for free i use it all the time to make songs .
hop this helps
Guitar Lessons?
Does anyone know where i can find video guitar lessons?
Here’s a few. They are all active links as of today. If you find something you especially like, let me know. Maybe I can find more in that genre. I have no idea what you’re looking for besides the instrument so I just gave you a quick grab bag. Enjoy.
how do i hook up my guitar hero guitar to rockband wii?
the question pretty much explains it, but can someone give me step by step instructions to hook up the standard wii guitar hero guitar to rock band for wii. i have the bass guitar for rockband, but i know that the other guitar also works to have four players.
THANKS!
Guitar hero guitars don’t work with rockband, unless you have a special guitar that can play both games (it would have come with a USB adapter.
Guitar lessons florida?
Hi everyone I’m Jessica I’m13 years old and I absoulutly LOVE music,It’s my life. Money is no problem I don’t brag like lots of people but paying for lessons is no probem. I’m Into Pop and Rock my favorite artist is Alexz Johnson or the head star of the Canadian show "Instantstar." Anyways I’m learning to play piano and that is pretty easy I’m fast at learning it and I have a Piano in my house and I have piano classes in school as an elective. So I really badly wanna learn to play guitar my parents said I could get lessons as longs as I don’t quit on piano….I write my own music and hopefully my futer will be something creative…..everything seems good right? WRONG!! Well what I need help on Is I need to know if you live In Florida where I could get lessons. If you play how long have you been playing, how good are you and ect info that you wouldn’t mind sharing. I have long fingers so that will help lol and I’m verry productive and A hardworker anyways any extra help would be nice~JJ

How do I play the guitar, and how to read Guitar music?
It would be nice if you guys and girls could give me some websites with guitar lessons and all kinds of other cool guitar stuff. I’ll give 25 extra points to the best answer.
Top tab sites are www.911tabs.com and www.ultimateguitar.com
www.freeandeasyguitar.com is a good site that has video tutorials and is very beginner friendly.
ps, like anything the more you invest and observe the more it will reward. My advice strum around your basic g,d,c,f,a,e,em,am,dm, chords while beginning. Those chords i listed above are just about in any song you come across. A real popular chord progression is G,D,Em,C ask any guitar player they’ve played that sequence a share to many. Good luck man, and welcome to the family
Where can I find helpfull information for blues guitar and drumms? ?
So here’s the thing: I have a cover band. We’re just starting but we’re doing pretty good with what we can. Now me and my drummer/best friend want to go for some blues because we like it a lot and we can express ourselves like we want that way. The thing is we don’t know where to start! Well I mean, I kind of know. I have guitar lessons and my teacher is very fond of blues. I play some 7th chords and stuff like that and use pentatonic scales to solo. What I would like to know is what does a blues drummer plays and how to improve my solos. If you could help I would be very grateful. ![]()
Try: http://www.tubestreamer.com
Even youstreamer.com
Youstreamer is the new sister site to tubestreamer. Both are guitar websites. One streams other videos, and youstreamer you can register for free and upload your own videos
This site for me has been really useful and has many resources. I like it because of all of the videos, and video categories. Plus it has a search function.
It has everything with tags for "guitar" which make it easier finding guitar related material unlike other video sites like youtube.
On http://www.tubestreamer.com you can find everything from the most basic of beginner videos, to advanced stuff, guitar reviews, amp reviews and more. I found this site a while back and have been visiting it every day since then. I go there to learn to play songs, get equipment reviews, and also to vote.
http://www.tubestreamer.com sponsers someone off of youtube each week and posts them as the "weekly streamer"
http://www.youstreamer.com is also for bands, and youstreamer sponsers a band or a user once a month
This is kindof cool and gives people a change to make it off the youtube site and onto other pages as well, while going for the "guitar" content
I noticed when I first started going to http://www.tubestreamer.com a few weeks ago, that there were changes being made to the page every day. I think the site is fairly new, but again has given me answers to most all of the questions I had that were guitar related. If you don’t see something you are looking for, just use the search.
Some Main things on http://www.tubestreamer.com
1. Acoustic covers and tutorials
2. Guitar Lessons
3. Tabs / Covers / Lessons / Workships
4. Guitar information such as Repair / Reviews
http://www.youstreamer.com is REALLY new, and has been going through many changes as well. It appears that the "backbone" of it is up and running, but not many users yet. Make sure to head over and sign up for a free account!
YouStreamer has:
1.Your Guitar videos that YOU upload
2. Different categories for the different videos (Beginner, intermediate, and advanced) as well as some other cool categories also.
3. "groups" that can be used to display your band
4. Audio section to upload your own music you have made, or your bands music
5. ratings, comments and etc….
The site looks great, just needs more users and content but I am sure that will come soon.
For already completed content: http://www.tubestreamer.com
Content seems to be updated daily, search tags show new things so I don’t get stuck on searching myself, or trying to find something I would like to learn. I simply go to their page and get great suggestions.
I have sent an email to the admin and got a fast personal response as well. (Which is a good thing)
Something I really like to see…. Great page with great guitar content, of which most of the time has had exactly what I am looking for and more.
I noticed there is also a new section that is a web forum area, and rumored a classifieds posting section for guitars and equpt coming soon.
On the email reply I received from http://www.tubestreamer.com
I was told that there would also be another place added soon for everyone to upload their own guitar videos and tutorials.
Definatly a website worth bookmarking in my browser, and hopefully it will be as much help to you. It is web pages like this I think that really help out by keeping so much information in one place. Thank you TubeStreamer.com !
Sorry to sound like I am boasting this site, but I love it, and it has shown me a lot of new things and I have learned to play a lot of new songs this way. Seeing a video is much easier to learn guitar. (Even has some Piano stuff, and recording software stuff as well)
The newest area added is the forum, and though it doesn’t appear that many people have signed up on it yet, I am sure it will not take too long for this site to take off…Let’s give some support to a great site showing dedication to bringing us great video information for free!
Visit, sign up for the forums, and browse around! Thank you for reading!

Guitar Lessons?
I want to learn to play the (acoustic) guitar. However, I can’t afford to pay for lessons. I have googled free online guitar lessons, but I’m not sure which site to go with.
Has anybody learnt to play the guitar using a website? If so, can you please recommend a good site that I can use? Thank you.
Getting a teacher can really help you learn. It that’s not for you then there are a lot of free lessons on the internet. Also take any chance you have to go to open jam sessions and play with other muscians. You will learn a lot form this and people will be able to answer questions for you.
