Beginner guitar lessons online for free?

I have a guitar that has been sitting around and gathering dust for a couple years now and i would like to change that. I was wondering if you know any websites that would help me learn how to play it for free. I know nothing about how to play a cord or anything. So if you know a good site that would be great! thanks

similar story with me. i bought a guitar when i was about 9 and lost interest, then a few months ago i started messing around with it. i went to music & arts and got a $10 teach yourself books. in around a week i was finished and i got board again. then i got guitar tabs for a song and looked up how to do thing on youtube i didn't know like hammer ons pull offs, slides, ect. now with 2 months i know how to play almost the whole song of stairway to heaven.

    Can you give a little more information. What style of guitar music are you wanting to learn. Classical, rock, jazz, blues? What type of guitar do you have? Accoustic, electric, classical?
