Are there any really credible decent sites out there to learn how to begin playing an electric guitar. My first lesson’s not until next week and i want to have a base knowledge. I already play the flute and piano so i have a basic knowledge of music theory in general.

You don’t want to go in with bad habits that the teacher will need to correct–let him/her guide you to doing it the right way the first time.

A guitar that is well made will make you want to play more and will make your guitar learning experience much more enjoyable. Without going into too much detail, look for something around the $700 mark. As the saying goes..you really do get what you pay for!

Playing guitar can be very satisfying and as an enjoyment and a method of relaxation, pleasure and passion of music for yourself and also together with others. hey, i’m teaching myself the guitar, im BROKE so i cant get a tutor .. and i dont know anyone who plays guitar… so what should i do now? :/ lol.. thanks

ultimate guitar has lessons in particular styles the basics etc.

The string in tab (uppercase) is the low E, and lowercase one is the high E.

Youll need to learn to read tab.

a number corresponds to the fret:

D————-
A–2———-
E————-

this means you play the second fret on the A string: a B.

3h4 mean to hammer on fromt he third fret to the fourth: i assume you know what this means.

3/4 means slide from the third fret to the fourth: play the note, then, while still maintaining pressure, slide your finger down to the next indicated fret

you will pick it up very quickly.

for instance the above is a G chord arpeggio, and then a hammer on, moving straight into a slide: playing a C hammering on to a C# without picking it, and then sliding down to a D# still without playing it

Ok so i am thinking about taking guitar lessons. I am 14 ( mi dad says im old for it and u need to start learning wen ur like little but i think it doesnt matter) . I was wondering if you guys noe where i can get guitar lessons in queens and how much do dey cost? Also can anyone plz tell mi where i can get a nice guitar for begginers ( not expensive)! Thanks

There are websites like guitar.com that can get you started. I’ve been told there are also some lessons on youtube. You can start at any age. I started at 12, my son started at 14 and got good enough to join a band, and I had an uncle who started classical when he was 40! Before you buy a guitar, go to a good guitar store and hold and play a bunch of them. Remember the brand you like and then go online and compare prices. I play acoustic guitar, and I bought a good one on line for about $200, but I knew what I was doing. If you want to learn electric it will be more expensive because you’ll need an amp and some sort of speakers. You can usually find teachers through the guitar stores. They can charge anywhere from $20 – 40 per lesson. As a beginner you’ll need to do a lot of practicing on your own to build up your calluses, so I would try a website or youtube before I shell out money to a teacher.

ok any good website….but where there is like 1st lesson….2nd lesson and so on cause many sites are confusing and i just don’t know which is first….?

Go to ultimate-guitar.com. This isn’t online guitar lessons, but if you know easy songs, search for that song and it will show you the tabs for them. That is where I learned to play the guitar.
