Is it hard to learn how to play acoustic guitar?
I really want to learn how to play the acoustic guitar but first I want to know is it real hard?
Of all of the instruments out there, it is one of the easiest to learn. Not to mention it is by far the coolest!
Here are some tips since you’re just starting out that will help you sort through all of the information out there:
When you’re learning anything for the first time, it’s overwhelming to try to pick the most reliable source of information. You can buy a cheap book or even try to go through reading a lot of free lessons that are offered online. Keep in mind though that just like many things, you get what you pay for. A walmart book or free articles are only going to take you so far, and you probably won’t learn what you actually want to learn.
The best inexpensive yet reliable option is video lessons on the web. You actually get taught how to play. I personally have spent years and years developing a system and creating an online instructional website that is quality (not just trying to make a buck–like most sites out there). In fact, I offer a new video lesson every single week, answer questions, have a forum. It’s set up just for people like you. I actually take the time to help you as you learn. I’ve tried to make a very simple way to learn. I think you’ll like it! http://guitarmann.com
Anyway, here’s a blog post I made recently about choosing on online guitar instruction website. Good luck learning! http://guitarmann.com/articles/the-best-…

What guitar chords could i play if someone else plays different chords?
I play guitar with my friend, and we do not want to play the same thing.
i would like to harmonize her part, or play something different.
What chords could i play while she plays B flat, f, and e flat?
The easiest way to complement a friend is to use a capo and play the same chord in a different position. In fact if you learn the CAGED capo method, you can easily do this for whole songs. I don’t have time to get into that, but to answer your specific question, here are some options for you:
Bb = capo 1 A or capo 3 G
F = capo 1 E or capo 3 D
Eb = capo 1 D or capo 3 C
There is also a completely separate method for an electric guitar to complement an acoustic guitar using 3 string chords, but from your question, I don’t think that’s what you’re going for. If you’re interested in learning more about the capo system, I teach it in my "Essentials" series on my site.

How do you play the chords in a guitar songbook?
Do you just strum the first chord once until you get to the next one or strum to like the pattern of the song?
Do you suppose to play the notes at the same time? If so, how?
Like how would you play this?

To provide adequate guitar accompaniment to a song it is crucial that the player knows the time signature. Once it is determined to be 2/4, 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, or cut time, the player can then provide the rhythm accordingly.
is there a good HOW TO dvd in learning how to play the guitar?
i really wanna learn how to play guitar but i don’t have patience in reading and learning off a book so i wanted to know if there’s any dvd that can teach me? THANKS!
Not sure whether or not you’ll be playing acoustic or electric, but Rock House (as mentioned by another poster) produces amazing DVDs that will teach you everything from the very basics (parts of the guitar and their functions, tuning, etc.) through everything you’d learn from years of lessons. There is a three-DVD set for acoustic players, as well as a three-DVD set for electric players and each set costs less than $40. I’d been playing guitar for more than 20 years when I decided to try the DVDs and can’t believe how much I’ve learned. The same guy teaches on both sets and he’s fantastic. It’s like having a private teacher who never loses patience, no matter how many times you go back to review something. Here are links to the sets at Musician’s Friend:

Learning the Guitar
You need a course of instruction.
The best way is with a private teacher
2nd would be class lessons
3rd regularly get together with other guitar players
or if you absolutely will or cannot do the above, Buy a book on how to play the guitar and follow it religiously.
Last would be to find some free online lessons and skip around in them doing what YOU think you want to do next.

Want to learn how to play guitar with little money?
I’ve wanted to learn how to play guitar for a few years now but i’ve never really had the time. Now that i have the time and aspiration i don’t have money to pay for lessons so i was wondering if anyone knows any cost effective ways to learn?
I’m a complete beginner so i don’t know much =) Any help will be appreciated.
Actually, people who take guitar lessons are the rich ones. And the lazy ones who usually end up learning little.
When I 8, my dad bought me my first guitar. I ignored it for 2 years then after that, I started to see music videos of Van Halen, Slash, Santana… you know, the guitar gods. And then I was inspired to learn how to play guitar.
My dad is a guitar player and offered to teach me how to play. I was so annoyed because he keeps asking me to repeat a chord even though I already mastered it. So what I did was I stopped asking him for help and bought a song magazine. See, in every song magazine or song book, there are chords and guide for chords. They show you what to press for that chord. The song magazine was really really cheap so I bought it and started reading them. I enjoyed learning because I got to play some of my favorite songs.
Now, I’m very very very good at it and I own about 4 electric guitars. I’ve started using power chords just last year. I’m 14 now.
My advice: buy a song magazine. Trust me. You’ll go a long way from there.
Cheers!
An unfingered guitar string is 0.70 m long and is tuned to play E above middle C (330 Hz). How far from the en?
An unfingered guitar string is 0.70 m long and is tuned to play E above middle C (330 Hz). How far from the end of this string must the finger be placed to play G# above middle C (415 Hz)?
I’m stuck on this one can someone help me out?
Thanks.
For a string fixed at both ends the fundamental frequency is f1 = v/2L
So v/2 = L1*f1 Since the wave speed is constant
we obtain for the second frequency
v/2 = L2*f2
Putting these together L1*f1 = L2*f2 or L2 = L1*f1/f2 = 0.70m*330/415 = 0.56 m
So you must finger the string at 0.70-0.56 = 0.14m from the end
Any recommendations on what to play on guitar?
I’m into bands like Three Days Grace and Shinedown but I was looking for other stuff to play. I like bands in standard tuning or drop d. Not big on lots of screaming. I’d say I’m an intermediate guitar player. I want more than just a few chords, I like some single note stuff and fast paced and stuff. Thx!
Put "The stone roses love speads" into youtube.
A brilliant guitar riff (throughout the whole song) – drop d and a slide – amazing stuff from Joh Squire. A superb guitarist/songwriter.
