How easy is it learning guitar yourself?

I was thinking aout learning the guitar but i don't really want lesson do you reccomend it? Is it easy? Also what guitar do you reccomend on a budget of 200 pounds?

It's pretty easy to learn the guitar without taking lessons. There are lots of places on the internet that can show you a thing or two. Or, even better, find someone who plays guitar, and ask get to show you a few things. Then, practice those things! It's all about practice. Once you know how to hold it and how the mechanics of playing the guitar are supposed to work, everything else will come from practice and experience.

What I'm trying to say is that there's a short learning curve to playing the guitar, and once you get past the initial ideas of what to do with your hands, it starts to become more fun and less stressful.

After that, what do you want to do with it? Do you just want to play chords around the fire with your friends? Do you want to go on tour? Between such extremes lie most guitarists. You don't have to be Great at it to be good at it.

200 pounds is about 400 dollars US. You could get a real guitar for that kind of money. If you bought a Fender Stratocaster, you'd be able to play it for 30 years, and it would just get better with age. Stay away from the gimmicky guitars that the kids play today. Don't touch anything that's a "signature" guitar in your price range. Used gear is usually a safe bet.

    You can begin with on-line lessons or well if you don't like going to lessons, just try by yourself and explore. I know how to play the piano because of exploring by myself! And you can buy an acoustic guitar that is in the normal quality, with the time you can win money by playing the guitar or save some money!

    The only people that are good at learning by themselves are the ones born with a talent. You should try it, and if it doesn't work, lessons would be a really good idea

    begin just play around on it, have somone tune it good first. Then you can print of chord sheets on the internet and play chords if you like or just watch videos on the internet about guitar playing.

    tabs are an ezi way 2 learn songs. I know of a very good set where you can get a great begginer guitar, the IBANEZ Jam pack
    http://www.musiciansfriend.com search ibanez jam pack. that is a acoustic guitar which is good for a begginer, but if you want an electric search behringer v-tone. both are good guitars under $200.

    I taught myself and think it's pretty easy. You could buy a beginners book and then just buy song books and you'll get good really fast. I got a poster with about 100 different chords on it and if you just learn 2 or 3 a day you'll be great. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

    well…i would recommend lessons, but if that is really unappealing then i would recommend finding someone else you know that plays guitar and have them teach you, and after you nail down the basics, try youtube for other stuff (i.e. fingertapping, soloing, sweep picking) and as far as your budget, convert that to dollars and go to musiciansfriend.com, and there your options are pretty much maximized

    i recommend jackson guitars (i play one and it is amazing) and any amp 10watts or higher will do

    I love playing the guitar, its amazing.

    It definitely is not easy though, there is tons of practice involved and there is tons of stuff to master.

    For you, I would recommend a Martin acoustic guitar.

    Definitely take up guitar. When you become serious, then get an electric guitar.
