What is an easy song to play on guitar?

I have an acoustic guitar, but I haven’t had any lessons and I am so lost.

What is an easy song to play?
I listen to everything from Taylor Swift to All Time Low to There for Tomorrow to Miley Cyrus to Mayday Parade to Secondhand Serenade to Aly & Aj to the Veronicas and wayyy wayy more.

I don’t know what to play and all. I’m not really good at strumming, I just can’t pick it up.

Help please?

    ok, relax! First of all you need to at least play 1 nice easy song, just to get your crap together, lol. I suggest Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple. You can hear it on youtube. Next step is finding the tablature. Tablature, or tab, is an easy way to read music. Google OLGA to find lots of tab. OLGA = online guitar archives. g’luck

    try taking on the world by gun,maybe not you kind of thing but its just four chords and an easy strumming pattern,the chords are Em-G-C and D,and if you keep your ring finger third fret b string for the G to C move you are only moving two fingers,simple,stick at it you will get there

    there are alot of easy songs ,if you know your chords which you can learn online, by the way and if you look around most popular song have as little as three or four chords so look arou nd and good luck.

    I would recommend starting a course like Jamorama ($40) or some free beginner lessons at justinguitar.com. This will provide a structure to your learning and help you practice your transitions between some common chords like C, A, Am, Em, E, G, D.

    A good starter song is Pearl Jam – Last Kiss. You can find an instructional video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5rgnFAAFCY
    The chord progression is G – Em – C – D. The strumming is DDUUDU for each chord. Be sure to only practice at the pace that you can play the notes correctly and work on any problem spots you have. This was the first song that I learned how to strum and I was totally stoked once I learned it. I realize it is not quite in your genre of Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, but it is a great beginner song.
