As a music instructor I’ve reviewed a few online music lesson programs out of curiosity. There are a few effective and affordable online guitar methods. I’ve discussed some of these in a recent blog if you’d like to check it out.

i've seen some free online lessons but they're mostly very weak and incomplete. my best suggestion would be to get a decent book (it costs less than an hour of lesson) or try to teach yourself if you have some musical background. but it would be probably good to ask someone you know to teach you the very important basic (posture, etc)
