Where can I get great guitar lessons?

I want to learn how to play the guitar. Where could i get some great lessons off the internet. If anyone could link any good sites I would deeply appreciate it!

I don’t think theres many proper guitar lessons on the internet that you don’t have to pay for. But there are a few sites that do free lessons. Although, they aren’t as good as ones that you can buy.

Have a look around on that website. There are a few articles and a few videos but on there, the lessons tend to be for intermediate other than beginner.

I think for the best results in learning, you need to buy the lessons. You could get a personal teacher that does lessons in your area – that’s what I did. I learned with a personal teacher until I felt I could improve on my own. Then when I left, I used youtube, ultimate-guitar and a site called shred academy to learn further, and it worked great!

Shred academy – http://www.shredacademy.com/ – but like I said, the lessons are more aimed at intermediate.

    Nancy Wilson (of Heart) has a DVD showing how to play acoustic guitar, and my nephew thinks it’s great

    You could go to your local guitar shop and ask them who offers lessons (some shops actually have lessons, too)

    There’s a British dude called Justin Sandercoe who’s posted a bunch of free guitar lessons. Search for him on youtube, or check out his site at justinguitar.com.

    Don’t do it off the internet! you might do it all wrong! It is so much easier to go to a teacher. you will learn so much quicker and they are really helpful. Go to Music and Arts Centers. My great granddad started the business and it has worked really well so far.

    Just for getting started, http://www.jamorama.com offers six free lessons, which are pretty helpful. You learn a bit about chords and stuff.

    Otherwise, books are a good source too. You can probably find plenty for sale, if you’re willing to spend a bit, I’d suggest buying a couple. You can learn an awful lot from books. Plus, having several different sources can be helpful; you know, several different perspectives.

    Youtube is good too, though I don’t know any specific people on there that offer a series of lessons (I’m sure there are some, I just don’t know them.) you can find videos on there with tips and pointers, and being able to see people play is very helpful.
