should i get lessons to play guitar?
alright, I’m 15 and i have been playing guitar for about 11 months and i learned by myself. i am really good (everyone says i was born to play guitar) and I’m in a band. but our band is going to start recording soon so i wanted to get a FBV pedal. but if i buy that, i won’t be able to afford lessons. i really want lessons though. I’ve always wanted them. Do you think i should get lessons. I kind of have trouble making solos but i have already made 3 kick ass songs.

You should definitely get lessons. You are already very talented and lessons will help you expand your knowledge. I started playing at about 10 and played for quite awhile before taking lessons. Like you I was already in a band and considered to be a very good player. I then took lessons for a few months and immediately became much better than I had already been. I more than doubled my ability in a very short time. Later on, after high school, I took several music courses at the local community college and began taking lessons with another local teacher and once again more than doubled my knowledge. After that I decided to make a career out of playing and I attended the famous Guitar Institute of Technology in Los Angeles. I was able to study with some of the best guitarists in the world and meet so many great musicians like Steve Vai and Eric Johnson, to name just a few. I, once again, More than doubled all of my previous knowledge and I now make a good living playing and teaching guitar. Check out my you tube link to see my playing and I think you will agree that lessons are one of the best things you can do to better yourself. Take the opportunity now to improve your abilities. You will be able to buy gear later
