    Go to google. Type in How to Learn Guitar by Yourself

    Then follow those steps. Then once you get the basics down. Start playing songs.

    play along with your favorite cds until you can keep up with them. i learned that way and ive been playing for 15 years now.

    Just try playing around with it. That’s what I did. It doesn’t matter if you get like formal training or something, just be able to make a good song. Then you can learn all that formal crap.

    YOU CAN GO ON YOUTUBE BUT AM TELLING YOU DONT GET AN INSTRUCTOR WHO WILL PERSONALLY HELP YOU HE WILL TOUCH THE BUTTONS ON THE STRINGS OF THE GUITAR ITS BETTER BECAUSE ITS ONE ON ONE ON THE INTERNET PEOPLE ARE GONNA BE GIVING YOU DIFFRENT INFORMATION

    Google it up, go 2 the library, or Youtube (type in ur favorite song or a song u want to learn to play and then put guitar, guitar tutorial, or guitar cover)… tht’s wat i am currently doing to teach myself how to play the guitar….

    You’ve had plenty of advice on finding websites for learning to play the guitar, but I strongly recommend that you take a few months of one-on-one lessons from an instructor. This way, you will not develop bad habits in forming chords and interchanging of them. You can get more questions answered through an instructor than you can from an Internet website.

    Learn how to tune the guitar
    Learn basic chords and their progressions
    Learn basic music theory for the chord
    Play with other guitarists whenever possible
    Avoid the dependance of using tablature; such a practice only weakens your expertise building.
    Avoid capos. They are called ‘cheaters’ for a real reason.
