How do I learn how to play acoustic guitar?

I’m really busy all the time and I don’t think my parents would be willing to pay for lessons. So what is an easy way to learn online?
I am 12 years old and have never played guitar before.
I don’t even know the notes, or tabs, or whatever.
I need to start from scratch.
I tried youtube but when i click on a video and they’re like okay start with the B string or whatever and I’m just like wtf?
Haha please help

well you should start with just learning the strings they go in order from thickest to thinnest:
E – thickest string
A
G
D
B
e – thinnest string

Once you learn this you should just start by holding down frets and listening to the notes. Frets are the spaces in between that you hold on to make sounds.

After you start to get better at spreding out your fingers you can go on a website like ultimate-guitar.com and type in any song you want for tabs. Tabs are an easier way of learning a song if you can’t read notes. I taught myself to play the guitar like you want to and i started out this way. Now i just play and learn songs by ear. Once you get better you might be able to do that but now just choose a song and looks at tabs.

When you find tabs fo a song you want try to make sure that, that tabs is 4-5 stars. The more stars it has (only up to 5) the better the tabs sound. Tabs just show you which frets to hold down.
For example (these are just randome notes) :
E-1–3-
A-1–3-
G-3–5-
D——–
B——–
e———
This just tells you that you have to hold down the first fret on the E and A string and the 3 fret on the G string at the same time. The — means to wait a second and then hold the third fret on the E and A and the fifth on the G. The more — you have the longer you wait till you hit the next note. Just try to listen to the guitar in a song then read the tabs and this will all make sence.

    There are a bunch of great websites out there for learning how to play guitar but the one I used was http://www.ultimate-guitar.com You won’t find just straight lessons there sometimes but they show you how to play chords. I learnt how to play guitar using chords and not tabs, but if you are going to teach yourself tabs might be the way to go.

    Learning the Guitar
    You need a course of instruction.
    The best way is with a private teacher
    2nd would be class lessons
    3rd regularly get together with other guitar players
    or if you absolutely will or can not do the above, Buy a book on how to play the guitar and follow it religiously.
    last would be to find some free online lessons and skip around in them doing what YOU think you want to do next.
    Guitar is one of the world’s most popular instruments.
    It is easy to take with you.
    It has a sound that people like.
    It can be use in almost any type of music.
    Almost anyone can learn to play it.
    Simple music is easily played after only a few days or weeks.
    You can continue to learn new and challenging music forever.

    Buy a guitar and learn how to play simple chords. You can definitely teach yourself by going on youtube and watching videos that teach you how to play certain chords.
    After you do that, find the "tabs" or "chords" for songs that you like and try to learn those songs. You’ll get used to it and you’ll be able to play many different chords in no time!
