I want to learn how to play the guitar?
ive played the piano for 8 years, im pretty good. i wanna learn how to play the acoustic guitar now, but im clueless. like, completely clueless. can i get a good guitar for $200 or under? i dont really want to take lessons, because it will cost more money, but i wanna learn guitar really badly. is it hard to learn on your own? sorry i asked like a million questions but i am so clueless..
If you are just starting out, First Act, makes a decent, not great guitar. They are okay for a starter guitar and they are not expensive. A good guitar is going to cost a little, but I found it was worth it. I love my acoustic. It is a tough instrument to self teach with the cords, so take it slow and learn the basic fingering. That is what I did. Since you have music in your background it will help because you know how some things are supposed to sound. Guitar music is in treble clef so, if you can read that already you are off to a good start. Get some beginner books and/or dvds. They can help.
