hey to all i want to ask you is it too late to start guitar lessons? i am 20 years old?

i know if u like smt you can start it even if u are 50 but i want to know if in for example 5 years from now with hard practice can i become a guitar teacher?i know if i had it started 10 years ago it would be easier because when you are young you learn a faster.the thing is i want to play guitar like a normal proffesional not like a rock star or smt.

It’s never too late to start learning something new. I had a 71 year old woman in one of my college classes just taking the class for personal enrichment. If she can do that, you can learn guitar. Now, if you work at it hard enough in that 5 year period, yes, you could become an instructor. But that just depends on you and how hard you work to get there.

    It’s never to late to learn. At 20 you are more disciplined and mature, what was complicated when you were younger is now cinchy. Whatcha waiting for? Sign and pay up for those lessons now.

    No its not too late. If you have the time and the will power you can do it. I’m not sure about a teacher in 5 years, but you could help out little kids maybe.

    My grandpa bought a drum set for his 79th birthday, by 80 he was awesome. Don’t ever think you are too old to follow your dreams.

    even if you did want to become a rock star level guitarist 20 isn’t too late. buckle down, start with the basics – even if they bore you – and in 5 years you could easily be teaching. sooner if you’ve got the aptitude for it. good luck!

    Go for it ! I’m old compared to you and am taking keyboard lessons after being abused as a child with 8 years of accordion lessons! LOL

    Never too late to learn anything. Trick to it is to not be discouraged so easily. Like anything else, How much work you put into it determines how fast and how much you learn.

    It Will be hard work, but it can be done.
    maybe not to your satisfaction in 5 years, but still..
    I’m 62, started as 21, taught myself (I’m left-handed) and have had many times of intense joy playing with people.
    But no matter what, I’ll never get the benefits of starting young,
